I have been reading around some of the other opinions on Dooyoo and I was struck by the mixed views on Chris Moyles. I see the words 'fat, offensive, rude, loud-mouthed and obnoxious' and I think to myself that this is actually the reason why his radio show is so funny. These are the sorts of descriptions that appeal to the younger person's humour.

Chris Moyles was born in Leeds in February 1974 making him nearly 28. He is very young for a radio host and this explains why his humour is so well received by teenagers and students. Of the people who have written these reports, the vast minority are in this age group. It is like a ten year old writing a bad review on opera. I am not saying that no older people like Chris Moyles - there are exceptions to every rule.

We can safely say that there is one thing that everyone likes to hear on the radio apart from the best music (which Chris Moyles's show does provide, incidentally)and that is controversiality. Chris Moyles has been sacked from a number of radio stations and this highlights his controversial side. His risky rantings and rudeness and snide remarks are what make him so funny.

Chris Moyles uses a lot of sarcasm and toilet humour to give his show the funny edge but, to his credit, he never lets it get out of control (as is the case with the most annoying pair on national radio - Mark and Lard)and is always the first to say when it does.

I think Chris Moyles is a superb presenter and those people who have only given him a 1 star rating should not only be questioning whether they are in the right age group to write reviews on the matter but also whether they actually have a sense of humour.

Now I'm not saying that Chris Moyles is funny all the time. He does have his low points. All I would say is that he is without doubt the funniest man on na
tional radio and I will look forward to reading any comments which suggest anything different.

The rest of Chris Moyles's crew (Producer Will, Comedy Dave and Thin Lizzie) provide him with good back up and help to make the show an undoubted success. Just look at his ratings!

I hope I have helped to explain why I look forward to 3.00 every afternoon when Chris's jingle can be heard nationwide and I why I see 5.45 as such a sad time.

Agree entirely with Grinchgirl, big fan of M&L, not particularly so of Moyles (Having said that I'm not entirely of 'target audience' age and should probably be listening to Steve Wright on R2 - but I'm not - ok). I fimd Moyles entirely unfunny, patronising highly critical, domineering, poor boy done good and highly reminiscent of Evans when he used to present breakfast on Virgin. Surrounded by sycophants who dare not disagree with him for fear of losing the cushy number, but likely to be extremely weary of his tedious I am attitude, and secretly disliking him.

Sorry Moylesy, wake up and smell the coffee, make hay whilst sun shines, for you are truely talentless and the (in my opinion) HUGELY talented Scott Mills is snapping at your heels and waiting for Radio 1 management to wake up.

I just can't stand the drone of "Comedy" Dave, yes I get it, ironic, but I still don't want to hear it day in day out.

There's no one else I'd rather listen to on the radio - he really makes me laugh!
