Galaxy 105 (Yorkshire)

Well, Galaxy FM sure is a good local radio stations. One of its best qualities is the ammount of dance music it plays at night. You’ll often find that radio stations (especially radio1) are a bit boring at night and it’s the time where either the obscure music or love songs come out to play. Well, not on Galaxy 105. They probably realised this and took advantage of the gap, and they have filled it well. Galaxy can be found in about 6 different parts of the country at the moment and will probably expand further. I live in York and I enjoy dance music. The best radio station I listen to Galaxy 105fm. It is aimed at the youger listner, probably between the ages of 14-30 at an estimate and plays mainly dance tunes. It has some good DJs such as Alex Pepper and Mel Sykes. I enjoy listning to the breakfast show on week mornings with Antony and Jo-Jo. I think they are really funny and they play some good music to start off your day. I dont think you would really enjoy this radio sation if you didn't really like dance and trance. They also play some pop aswell, but not that much. I have listened to Kiss/Galaxy 105 since it's launch and I would have to say that the DJ's sometimes talk a little too much but I think that this is made to seem worse by the amount of adverts aired, Galaxy can not really be blamed for this as they are, after all a commercial radio station and this is how their money is made. Another good thing to mention is the prizes that they give away, some of the prizes given are fantastic, for example they are giving away £10,000 to match your birthday with the one they pick out, how easy is that?????
