GWR FM (Swindon & West Wiltshire)

GWR has recently changed its name from GWR to Heart but it is still as bad as it ever was. I am forced to listed to it every day in the office, not because anyone in the office particularly likes it but it is the only radio station we seem to be able to pick up. at work and it is purely awful. They have some good songs but then play them to death. I have just listened to Lady Gaga poker face for the 1st time today but I have no doubt they will have played it 3 more times by the time I go home, has nobody told them that she has a new song out now. I have been listening to GWR for well over ten years now. It's great to stick on in the car or just around the home when you don't feel like putting on a CD or if you want to catch up on local gossip. The problem is really that the same songs are repeated over and over, especially top ten tracks. It's possible to hear the same song more than twice in one hour! For local news however, this is a useful radio station. If you want to know about the status of the local roads or any train delays, GWR will normally be available to announce them. I find GWR FM highly irritating to listen to! It's only recommended to listen to this if you are a middle ages person that loves 80's music and a bit of Take That and various other junk thrown in there somewhere. The presenters are rarely funny and don't always have much to say, so they just stick a few more tracks on that they have previously been repeating over and over again! I have had to listen to this radio station for almost three years now and I am starting to get rather bored. I`ve listened to GWR since i`ve been living in Swindon- over 10 years now. The presenters are funny and are good at what they do. However my biggest beef is the fact that they tend to play the same songs over and over- my biggest pet hate! They seem to love Will Young, that "i miss you like the dessert misses rain" song (i hate it), daniel powter "bad day" and Take That. I wouldn`t say that they play wide range of artists and genres. Mostly its pop with a bit of 80s throw in. Because of this i now listen to Brunel FM- Swindon's other radio station who have a "no repeat 9-5" policy.
