Hallam FM is an independent radio station serving South Yorkshire & some parts of the North Midlands. It is a commercial radio station that supports itself with adverts & promotions. The station has been broadcasting since the 1970's. It originally started as Radio Hallam on AM & FM on the 1st of October 1974. In 1987 Radio Hallam merged with neighboring Torkshire stations Pennine Radio & Viking Radio to form the Yorkshire Radio Network which no longer exists. Sheffield based Hallam FM has everything a radio station needs to ensure listeners keep happy and smiling throughout the day. First thing in the morning you have the breakfast show which consists of Big John, shaun and other rather funny poeple. They do the "Johnny and Shaunny" sketch which I make sure I'm up for. Theres various people through out the day who i dont have the pleasure of listening to. Dixie is on Smash Hits and gives a blend of current and popular songs mixed with requests and news updates.
