I used to listen to this station in 1990/91 when I was a student at Huddersfield Poly, and I have fond memories (I taped a few mixes). At the time I liked the Stone Roses and the Happy Mondays plus the tail-end acid house stuff, which you could get now and again on Radio 1. But to me, Jive FM provided something different, the breaking of new stuff and as it was actually happening. Reception in 1990 was a bit hit and miss: the station would 'disappear' for half an hour or so, but the DJs were good and kept the tracks flowing: I remember Cola Boy with 7 Ways to Love finishing off a particularly memorable set - I think I recorded a part of it on cassette, if I could ...
