I’m old enough to remember a time before Joe Whiley and have particularly enjoyed her television appearances. Here she is again on BBC 1 radio (97 -99 Fm) between 10.00 hrs and 12.45 hrs Monday to Friday. THE SHOW THE MUSIC A laid back middle of the road sound a little more sophisticated than the young sound paraded on TOP of THE POPS for the school years generation. While Jo Whiley is not as inovative with her choice of music, she is still a welcome break at lunchtime before we suffer the one trick ponies that are Mark and Lard. The lunchtime social is the equivalent of Jamie Theakston's Sunday Lunch and comprises of songs, news, gossip and special guests. While we are not able to hear stuff like the new PJ Harvey single we are still treated to JJ72, Muse and Hear'Say. Well OK there is some Pop music in, but thankfull little of cabbage haired Pop Monster Craig David and the rest of his 2-step garage croonies.
