Advantages: some great DJs'

Disadvantages: BAM BAM, morning shows

I have listened to kiss for over 10 years and have witnessed a lot of changes over the years, Tuesday nights were always ruled by Tony De Vit RIP. John Digweed now conquers Friday night, and a lot of the commercial toilet like Judge Jules and Seb Fontaine has moved over to radio 1. If only they got rid of Brandon Block and Alex P with those stupid Budweiser ants. The breakfast show used to be really good with Steve Jackson and the amusing voices he used to use to do wind-ups, this made me laugh hysterically. I would not mind if they replaced like for like, but Bam Bam took over. What a northern monkey he is, I am sorry but the guy plays what the record companies tell him and is about as funny as his DJ skills are good which are non-existent. This style of radio presenting takes roots from the commercial cheesy student club night area but this does not work as a lot of the London listeners are more mature and with sophisticated tastes. I am sure Street boy could do the show better on his own and probably get some of the audience back. This has left me never listening to Kiss anymore in the mornings as Bam Bams’ voice just does my head in. Even after speaking to Chris Phillips (reasonable kiss presenter but why support Wimbledon) at a club in Brighton he agreed he did not know why Kiss brought him in. All you hear on kiss anymore is either the same track played every half hour, followed by adverts and some sponsorship of some event throughout the entire day. At points I have switched from Radio 1 to Kiss to hear the same track being played.

To me this station has totally gone downhill during the day and to listen to anything worthwhile you have to stay up really late or be out clubbing. Shows like John Digweed or Adam Freeland should be brought in a little earlier. I remember early live shows from clubs like Peach with DJs’ like Paul Oakenfold playing before they came into the lime light spinning out a storming Perfecto set.

All Kiss ha
s done is tried to have played the commercial greed game but can not compete like for like and at the end of the day will not make the profit for its day time shows with the lack of quality it has to display. Remember Kiss your listeners are your bread and butter and once you Alienate them its hard to get them back.

Couldn't agree with you more about Bam Bam. Ever since he took over I've stopped listening to Kiss breakfast show. He's got an irratating voice and he tries to be funny when he's soooooo not. It's a shame Kiss is ruined by this stringy cheese.

You are a jerk, I bet you are one of these people who has to sit and listen to the whole program and then complain. If you don't like it go else where. Your opinion is not shred by everyone, as the reviews suggest:

Meanwhi le Bam Bam's Breakfast show on Emap's Kiss 100 FM in London achieved its highest ever figure, increasing its listenership by 7% quarter-on-quarter to 868,000 from 810,000.

The success of the Sony-award winning show means that Kiss is coming very close to rivalling Heart FM - just 7,000 listeners shy of becoming the second biggest London breakfast show.
