Danny Rampling was one of the founding fathers of house music, he was one of the original group that went to Ibiza in 1988 and brought back acid house, and ever since I can remember he has been pumping out the tunes on his Lovegroove dance party on radio 1. The show has recently moved to 9 - 11 on a Friday night, following Judge Jules.
The music policy is funky/tribal house with guest mixes from the likes of Eric Morillo, Todd Terry and Roger Sanchez. The show has many regular features such as Danny's tune of the week, the guest mix, club of the week and the half hour hot mix. Many of the more commercial tracks played on the show go on for chart success, such as David Morales - needin' u, Stardust - music sounds better and m + s - salsoul nugget. These tracks are often played months in advance of their release dates meaning that you can keep ahead of whats happening on the scene.
Danny Rampling is a very talented dj and plays out all over the country. This means that he knows what is big in the clubs so he can share it with us all. He often plays at such clubs as Ministry of Sound, Bed, The Cross and Babooshka.
