BBC Radio 5 Live is a radio station which is entirely about sport (also features news reports etc) and specializes in live coverage of sport events.

The station first came on our air waves in 1990 (in a slightly different format). Broadcast on 909 AM in medium wave (apparently and formerly of Radio 2).
But I listen to it through the internet and its website - http://www.bbc.co.uk/5live/ - which is very simple to use and has never gone wrong whilst I've listened (not even any buffering type issues) you can also find the station on DAB radio now, as well as on Sky television (and possibly on freeview).
The station broadcasts commentary on the following sports (maybe a few more too);
Premier league football; champions league; world cup (I assume);
Olympics; formula 1; rugby; tennis and boxing.

I just listened to a great football match which Manchester United beat AC Milan 3:2 (yay). The commentators are always engaging and thankfully knowledgeable (and occasionally funny). I also like the Richard Bacon late night show (a fan since XFM in the old days!)

So if you love football and other British sports in general I'd recommend giving this station a listen to.
