Radio One Breakfast ShowNewest Review: ... and the show itself. If your mate doesnt get all the questions right, you get to tell a secret about your mate. It's quite good, but not as good as the feature it replaced, 'Phrased and Confused'. With Phrased and Confused, you would phone an unsuspecting friend up on-air, and try and get them to say a particular phrase given to you by Coxy. This could be anything from, "Im in a Hot Air Balloon" to "Im doing Page 3 modelling". Turn It Up is another feature on the show. You go to the website (www.bbc.co.uk/radio1, request a song, giving a good reason and she plays one a day. The rest of the show is a dissa... more |

Sara Cox is one of the bubbliest people in the Radio industry. One of the best looking too. I can remember the first time I listend to Coxy, and I couldn't believe how noisy she was - screaming, shouting and god knows what else. This morning for example, at about 7:15am, she started shouting, "COME ON ENGLAND!!!" OK, I know that England is playing today, but I'm sure she could have waited a little bit, until about 8ish when people are awake! The show's features are quite good. There are a few giveaways, including 'Mate Or Break'. You ring in with a mate, and your mate has to answer five questions - usually about Music, TV ... Read the complete review

The Radio 1 Breakfast show is supposed to be the stations’ flagship. For this reason you would have thought that they’d give the slot to a really professional, entertaining and funny DJ. They didn’t. I used to be an avid listener of the show when it was presented by Chris Evans who (despite being annoying and Ginger) was really fresh, and regularly made me laugh out loud. Since he left they’ve been through a few presenters trying to recreate the popularity. For now they appear to have settled on Sarah Cox. The features on her show include: Aye-aye Caption:- A very tired web-cam based caption competition. Its obvious that this ... Read the complete review

I have a long drive to work every morning and listening to Radio 1 normally passes the time. Except before 10am. Sara Cox in the most unfunny person I have ever heard. Radio 1 has a lot of quality DJ's, Mark & Lard, Chris Moyles, even Jamie Theakston to name a few. So why was she given the Breakfast Show? It's the flagship show and has potentialal the biggest audience and deserved a presenter of the highest calibre. I really disliked Zoe Ball when she presented the Breakfast show (although she was good with Kevin Greening) but still listened because it was marginally better than my tinpot local radio station. When she announced she was leaving it was ... Read the complete review

I wake up every morning to listen to the Radio 1 Breakfast show, I think that it is another fantastic show to add to Radio Ones already brilliant line up. I only listen to Radio 1 because it is funny, interesting and meets the needs of me as a listener. OK some shows can go a bit over the top admittedly but I still think that they are funny and the best Radio station in the UK. I think that Sara is also a good DJ and should be left alone to get on with her amazing talent! I used to listen to B97 in the Bedford area but then changed because there was no sense of humour what so ever! Radio one plays brilliant music, has regular news ... Read the complete review

When you are physically ill, your tolerance levels are reduced tenfold and often lends itself to incredibly short tempers where even the slightest thing will enrage you and endanger the relative sanity of the people around you. It is even worse when you are in a hospital ward and there’s another physically sick person who has unfortunately developed a repetitive cough, stops and starts with no reason and decides to take no remedial action to try and stop themselves from coughing. It is even worse when someone just randomly asks you questions such as ‘Are you alright?’ when you clearly are ill and do so at random intervals when you are doing ... Read the complete review
