Advantages: I love the music he plays

Disadvantages: he talks a load of rubbish

Every saturday night from 9pm - 1am, Tim Westwood brings his unique voice to radio one.

Tim is a white wanabe gangsta. Hes very tall, seems to know everyone in the hip hop business, and always has great guests. He must be over 40 as hes going grey, but he dresses like a 20 year old american gang member.

This week Goldfinger was a guest, and played an excellent mix for an hour, this made a big difference to the show as it didnt have westwood talking all over it.

Tim likes to talk almost constantly, if he likes a track he will play loads of sound effects over it, like the sound of an explosion, a gun and his little catchy phrases.

Hes not to everyones taste, I for one dont notice him talking as much as I used to, as he pitches his voice the same throughout, and this makes the show go quite quickly for me.

Its a great show to write an essay to, as hes basically talking rubbish, theres nothing interesting that hes saying, even an interview with someone is just a lot of 'yeh man', 'big up', 'heavy hit after heavy hit' and all this malarky.

He plays a mixture of hip hop, reggae and dancehall, he loves Eminem and usually plays at least 3 Eminem snippets in each show.

If your doing work on a saturday night, or getting ready to go out then give this a go. I usually listen online at www.bbc.co.uk/radioone. The quality is excellent and allows me to save electricity not having the computer and the radio on at the same time.
