Advantages: Some really good tracks played

Disadvantages: Annoying presentation

Westwood and the Radio 1 rap show is on every Saterday @ 9. I find the show annoying, smug and the musical gems they play doesn't compensate for the rest. I'd better explain why I have this opinion, because I don't hate rap music...

-Presentation. The smug presentation of the show drives me mad, Westwood talks for ages and I just want to get to the next track.

-The fact more and more rap music is written just to sound hard and cool, and the focus isn't always on the music.

-However, before I put the show in my Room 101, I'd better say that it does play some good music. I'm not a big fan of what Radio 1 class as 'urban' music, but I do like some of it. Also, you usually hear tracks first on Westwood, as he does play stuff before the rest of the DJs @ Radio 1 get their hands on it.

Overall, the show isn't that bad, but I think the focus needs to move away from the rap culture and towards the rap music.
