I think Russell Brand is a good comedian and that he can deliver some very funny lines at times but there seems to be an element of the 'show off' about him and if he gets encouraged when he is near the knuckle, he will go tight over the top.

His radio show has been running for a while now and I must admit that I have cringed once or twice at comments he has made but I put that down to a personal view of what's acceptable and what's not.

Russell Brand is as boorish and ill mannered as he is on TV and he just seems to naturally say whatever he wants without worrying about the consequences. His sex and drugs type comments don't bother me but I did hear him playing the fool with Jonathan Ross and being extremely offensive towards Andrew Sachs.

I will not go into the details of what was allegedly said during the telephone calls Brand and Ross made to the elderly comedy actor but it suffices to say that they were crude and distressing.

This is disgraceful and it was a case of getting laughs (or trying to) at someone else's expense. I was surprised that Jonathan Ross was party to this because I had never put him in the same category as Russell Brand. (The big problem for Russell Brand is that he almost switches into another mode at times and forgets to stop. )

The Russell Brand show is good to listen to for me because of his choice of music. I like the kind of stuff he plays. No doubt I will continue to listen.

There has been a lot of media coverage of this episode and it had only sparked off peoples' interest in the wayward comedian. If the BBC had dealt with the matter in private Brand wouldn't have had all the free publicity.

Yes, anyone who appears on TV or radio should be responsible for their own action. Yes, they should be made accountable for causing such distress to an old man but this should not be done in public.

Recently, Gordon Brown has insisted that the BBC take appropriate action where this matter is concerned and so it should be, but Mr Brown too is fuelling the publicity. The BBC are responsible for what they broadcast and in the old days would have 'pulled the plug' on such outrageous behaviour.

Russell Brand can, in my opinion, go too far at times but I have to say that some of the humour in Little Britain offends more (in general) than he does. He has interviewed some interesting people and presents the show well. I don't think he should lose his job, as has been suggested in the media, but he needs to tone things down a bit and put his brain into gear before he opens his mouth.

Will I continue to listen to the Russell Brand show? Well, yes, if he is allowed to continue with it. I will listen. There are many far more offensive things than this show on the television and in my opinion, although this is not acceptable, it is not the worst 'offence' of its kind.

Summary: If you are easily offended don't listen to this show, Switch it off!
