Advantages: Looks good on CV, make loads of mates, have lots of fun!!!

Disadvantages: Can you cope with all the fame amongst your mates?!?

Demon FM is the student radio station at De Montfort University (DMU) Leicester city campus. Demon FM won best
student radio station in 2001 which was a brillant achievement for all those involved.
I can assure anyone thinking of going to (or already at) DMU that if you want to get involved, then do and you
will be rewarded - I have just come to the end of my 1st year here at DMU and I got involved with Demon FM as soon as there were notices up about meetings. I co-presented
a show for the first licence and was lucky enough to be
given my own show for the second licence!
If you're looking to go into a career in the Media then taking part in a student radio station is a great way of getting not only experienced but noticed.
Not only the future employment side is good though, being part of Demon FM has been great when it comes to meeting new people, especially if you're up for a good laugh, everyone at Demon FM is so friendly - will always help if you ask and they can, and best of all we may WORK hard
but we definatly PLAY hard too!
So don't be shy come and get involved, you don't just
have to want to present, there are so many different
things you can help with from researchers to news readers to promoters to Web designers and everything in between!
BEing part of Demon FM has definatly made my 1st year a good one and I can't wait till term starts again so there can be more wackyness and laughter across the air waves of Leicester and hopefully the world (via the internet)!!!
