It's a real shame I don't have a digital radio in my car as I have to change the station whenever I move away from the immediate Swansea area because we lose signal (usually near Newport) I used to listen to the 10 at 10 show every night but it was such a shame they have decided not to continue it. The Wave is a radio station based in Swansea in Wales and is in fact my local radio station. I always listen to it in the car and on the odd occasion online. It In my opinion the wave is the best station to listen to in South Wales and I myself have been listening for years. The Wave 96.4 has changed considerably since the last review. It plays only the best hits, contemporary hit music and sneak peaks of new, upcoming hits. The entertainment on The Wave is great and the DJs are very warm. Some jingles could do with a little work, but the others are powerful and the feel of the station is wonderful.
The best CHR station, I reckon. The airwaves carry South West Wales' No.1 Hit Music Station to the Swansea area.

96.4 fm The Wave plays contemporary pop music and many old songs. Now, what i find is that most of the time the older tracks overpower the new tunes, which is disobeying the OFCOM license. Yes, the station has good info, but the big problem is that the music needs to be more contemporary and upbeat, with the jingles being powerful and exciting. I've also noticed that there is more old music on Sundays and many networked shows, throughout the week and weekends, which i find very annoying. The Wave should be fully LOCAL, not partly networked. It has gone terrible since 2006 - If UTV Radio have any sence, then they'd bring back South West Wales' No.1 Hit Music Station. The ... Read the complete review

I have to agree with the latest post - The Wave is nothing like it used to be. A radio station should know which tracks it should play, not depend on its listeners liking a handful of songs in an online survey. I wish that they'd stop trying to mature with the listeners they had 10 years ago, it's turned into a clone of Swansea Sound, but with less personality and more networked drivel. Bring back South Wales' Hit Music!

The Wave has surley gone rubbish since it the last review was written. Most of the presenters have long gone - either moved to a different station or retired. Wiggins and Angela J have moved to Real Radio. The website is very poor indeed. There are more old songs than new. The adverts have progressed to a limit of 7 in one go. By that i mean that there are roughly 7 adverts every (what seems like) 10 mins. The DJs have gone down hill. The wave definately need to change their website back to the way it was. Hardly any Chart anthems are played any more. The songs that they played in 1995 are still being played again and again. My advice is that you shouldn't listen to this station - it doesnt make swansea proud anymore.
