96.4 FM is a Swansea based radio station. It is a very popular choice of radio station and consequently is the number radio station in South Wales!

South Wales’ best music comes direct from my hometown and this station makes you proud. It is crammed full of huge hits and consequently I am listening to this top-notch station as I write this op.

The Best Time To Tune In
-------------------------
This station is split into various sections with different presenters for different slots such as the Breakfast show which is presented by Badger (Badger’s Breakfast) the show begins at 6.30 am and finishes at around 10am. This is always a good time to tune in as it wakes you up and makes you laugh. There are many different additions as well as the music hits that are played in this duration which include frequent news headlines, sport info and what is really handy is the latest traffic news so you can avoid early morning traffic!

The Presenters

Extra Info.
-----------
The Wave as well as playing hit music and various music fr
om the varying decades also hosts a range of various competitions with various prises on offer such as last year, there was a competition to win a ford Ka or Mondeo in association with The new Tesco Marina Opening. Also there are smaller competitions that are available such as ones that are held during the late show and Evening Zone, These prises can range from Chart CD’s Cinema Ticket and other such Items. I myself have been on air twice entering competitions of this nature and got 4 out of 5! I was so close but lost out.

As well as the competitions, The Wave every year for the last 4 years, have hosted a Party In The Park. This event has been a huge success here and on average 10,000 people attend. It is hosted in Singleton Park and a load of current chart stars attend. The first year, The All Saints headlined the show before they shot to fame and through the 3 years already gone, other stars include Steps, A1, Lolly, Damage as well as a host of other stars. This year, Party In the Park is taking place on August 15th and A1 are again headlining the show and it is believed that the ‘Dropstars’ as they were called now Liberty, are expected to attend. This is sure to be a special event as we may be one of the first crowds to see this popstar group in action. I myself am quite intrigued as to see how good they are as I think they look a better band than Hear’say. Let have our fingers crossed to see what happens!

Conclusion
-----------
The Wave is my favourite radio station and even though I don’t listen to the radio that much because of my vast array of music albums, I always make sure I tune in when I can. I have to say, it’s much better than Radio one in my view, the presenters are much better and the music is much more varied stretching over decades as well as having recent chart hits such as Basement Jaxx, Hear’say and Destiny’s Child.

A really good station. If you’re ever i
n the area, tune in!
