This is in a sense a greatest hits album. However, Mariah (humble as always) didn't think she'd done enough or been going long enough to do a greatest hits album, so in a sense she released an album, for those who don't have her whole collection, so fans can buy a CD of some of her best hits over the 9 year period. Although they were based on the #1's from the US, as she's had about 15 or something, basically every single. The UK album has Without You instead of "I Don't Wanna Cry" as it was #1 here. I bought this album as there was a lot of mariah carey songs I liked but would have had to buy all of her albums.The no1s album is not a greatest hits album but songs that mariah herself thinks should of been no1. Over the years mariah carey has changed a lot and so have her songs before most of them were about been in love or been hurt but now they are different types of emotians such as wanting somebody,believing in yourself. There are still songs about love and been hurt.
