Bustin' Out - New Wave to New Beat: The Post Punk Era 1979-81 recently got a brilliant write up on the BBC Music website, I like a bit of new wave and wasn't too familiar with that many of the bands on the compilation so thought I'd give it a whirl and see what I found. I suppose the part I didn't pay much attention to and should have was the words "New Beat", the album certainly doesn't contain the kind of new wave music I was expecting it too but of course time-wise it definitely is post-punk.
