Advantages: Different, lively.
Disadvantages: The band split - or have they.....?
As you can see from the picture - they're two rather odd looking chaps but don't let this put you off from listening to this really interesting album: 101 damnations. This was their first offering. Still regarded as something a little different, these two nutters (Jimbob and Fruitbat) brought cheesy electronic samples and mixed it together with a drum machine and some awesome guitar riffs. The result? Some loved it, others couldn’t care less but from the tracks on this album there are at least two that stand out: Sheriff Fatman and 24 Minutes from Tulse Hill. Sheriff Fatman traditionally became the song that they started their concerts with and to go along with it they used to send a rather large chap out on stage. The crowd’s response? “You fat b*stard, you fat b*stard.....” The music would kick in and off you went. Most fans will still tell you that this is their favourite song and quite right too. It sounds good, it's catchy and it's clever. So thankfully Westlife probably won't want to do a cover version. They were great, they were interesting and if rumours are true, it may not all be over yet. If you never bothered with Carter USM then you may wish to try the album 30 Something first as this was the one that saw them in a more public light but you should definitely give this a listen sometime. 1. The Road To Domestos 2. Everytime A Chruchbell Rings 3. 24 Minutes From Tulse Hill 4. An All American National Sport 5. Sheriff Fatman 6. The Taking Of Peckham 123 7. Crimestoppers A' Go Go 8. Good Grief Charlie Brown 9. Midnight On The Murder Mile 10. A Perfect Day To Drop The Bomb 11. G.I. Blues
