in 1998 bruce sprinsgteen released a box set of four cd's of unreleased full tracks , that for one reason or another never made any of his albums. Many of these tracks are so good most bands would kill to have just one of them , but being bruce and being prolific a lot of stuff got left off. with no new material ready for release he released tracks. this album is the shorter version a kind of best of tracks but with 3 more added songs ( not released on the box set ) including trouble river a rocker from the human touch sessions, the fever the track he gave to southside johnny in the 70's which is a brilliant version. and the much sought after and long awaited ...  Read the complete review

For more than ten years, I've been waiting for Mr. Springsteen to release a record like that. I love his music and his cinematic lyrics but once I heard "My love will not let you down" on a bootleg and from that day on I wanted to have this song in a better sound-quality. In 1998, I walked into a record-store and saw this new box-set and there it really was. My dreams came true, one of the best songs ever released after a long sleep. As anyone who knows Springsteens music, it was clear, that a new release should lead to a worldwide tour, I now was looking forward to see the E-Street Band perform my favorite song live. The concert in Berlin ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review 18 Tracks - Bruce Springsteen: Great Tracks! (201 words)

Rating:

I've been a fan of Bruce since the 70's (I was in nappies at the time...I wish!) and I've collected his music, including B-sides and bootlegs. I've also seen him live a few times (a superb experience). Despite this, there is a lot of music on "Tracks" I'd never come across before. Tracks is a 4 CD set that chronicles unreleased (mostly) material from the 1970's right up until the late 90's. In my experience, collections of this sort are usually better left in the archives...but not in this case. "Tracks" is full of top quality music that leaves you wondering why it was never officially released. Bruce's album ...  Read the complete review

It's a long time ago now Blander than bland

Range of subject matter and musical styles. Too clean sounding for some.

Clapton at his best, old blues classics performed with Clapton's trademark brilliance, shows the real side of EC Clapton's mainstream fans may not fancy an entirely blues album

Wonderful music with something different The CD has a finite capacity

Live, Fun, Great Listening (advice - play LOUD) Doesn't feature Polcie classics and not one to relax to or for when you have a headache.

Great songs from three decades on two CDs, Timeless classics, Fabulous lyrics Not enough room for everything!
