Advantages: great material of the 70's and 80's
Disadvantages: the early 90's songs
For more than ten years, I've been waiting for Mr. Springsteen to release a record like that. I love his music and his cinematic lyrics but once I heard "My love will not let you down" on a bootleg and from that day on I wanted to have this song in a better sound-quality. In 1998, I walked into a record-store and saw this new box-set and there it really was. My dreams came true, one of the best songs ever released after a long sleep. As anyone who knows Springsteens music, it was clear, that a new release should lead to a worldwide tour, I now was looking forward to see the E-Street Band perform my favorite song live. The concert in Berlin started with this song. Great! The box itself, the package is great artwork, contains three really good CD's with great songs, starting with the first columbia-rehearsal and introducing work of 25 years with great musicians. I personally don't like the last CD, which contains music of the nineties, I didn't like the Human Touch-Album either. This songs only show, that the man himself for some years grew old. The songs were not released for a good reason I think, but one of the latest songs, "brothers under the bridge" which I first heard in Springsteen's 95 Solo-Concert in Hamburg(Germany), shows that he is back and still knows how to tell a two-hours-movie in just five minutes.
