Released in 2000, this tune was one of DJ Zinc's first ventures into the Breakbeat / Garage scene. The name itself comes from the fact that the tune has been made at 138 bpm (beats per minute).

I still can't believe that 138 Trek is 9 years old, it still sounds as fresh and unique as the first time I heard it all those years ago. The wobbly sound this track incorporates has in recent times become incredibly popular again and this alone shows just how forward thinking Zinc was at the time.

The intro is short but sweet and the several switchups in the bassline keep you interested. The breaks have a great groove and there is no real breakdown in the middle which also maintains the energy.

This is one of the few tracks that has remained close to my turntables at all times and I can honestly say I've never become bored by it!

An all time classic for anyone in the Breakbeat / Garage scene of many years ago...
