A very good debut (and only!) album (22-20s - 22-20's)

Advantages: 'Devil in Me' and 'Why don't you do it for me?' Disadvantages: No obvious ones
This album was the one and only offering from the 22-20s before they split in early 2006, and although they did reform for one show late last year, there is no suggestion that they will be returning permanently. If this is destined to be the sum total of their music career in this particular guise, then it is a memorable offering. Opening track 'Devil in Me' is a brilliant mix of blues and rock, and will probably remembered by some as it featured in a Vauxhall car ad of the time. However there is much more to admire on this album which generally went ignored by the British music buying public, which is a great shame. Second single '22 Days' is another triumph, but my personal favourite is 'Why don't you do it for me', with songwriter/lead singer Martin Trimble bemoaning his girlfriend's complacent attitude to their relationship - we have all been there at some point with our partners, both men and women!! Summary: Add it to your collection! |
