Sessions For Robert J - Eric Clapton

Rating:
with such energy and obvious enjoyment by all concerned. The only thing that could be a negative is that not all of Robert Johnsons songs have been covered by Eric Clapton yet and subsequentely presented as an album. I hope that these will be done on a future album, as EC has covered most of his work. I have personally heard Eric Clapton play "Milk Cows Calf Blues" and "Little Queen of Spades" from this album at the Royal Albert Hall and at the Manchester Evening News Arena and the live versions were even better than on the cd, Little Queen of Spades being 17 minutes long. Robert Johnson, in his short life, only wrote and recorded 29 songs before ...

two geniuses coming together to pool their talents and have a bit of fun at the same time. - A Potted History Part 2 – Eric Clapton Eric Clapton (aka Eric Patrick Clapp) was born in Ripley, England in 1945. While he had a hugely successful career with a variety of bands (the Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith), it wasn't until 1970 that he ventured out on his own . And even after the release of his first solo album, he saw fit to disappear back into the relative comfort of a band environment almost immediately, in the form of 'Derek and the Dominos'. It wasn't until ...

For those folks who are not sure if they are going to like Blues or not this is a great album to start listening to .I have been an ardent EC and BB fan for years. My partner has always thought blues boring and guitar tracks " dull and full of twiddly bits". On hearing this she was more than impressed and now its a favourite. ...

The Oath Of Black Blood - Beherit
Historically interesting.
Several spring to mind.
Simple Plan - Simple Plan
Some super catchy, hugely fun Pop Punk tracks.
A couple of tracks fail to deliver.
Seasons Of Tragedy - Benedictum
Modern heavy metal in the classic style, without sounding dated.
Nothing new here.
My Way - Usher
Vocals, music, recording
A couple of weaker links
Mafia - Zakk Wylde & Black Label Society
A little less derivative of Ozzy Osbourne.
Hardly any songs stand out from all the filler.
Cross Symbol - Justice
Superb electronica throughout, no truly bad tracks in my opinion
It is possible that you won't like Justice's uncompromising approach to electronica
Atomic Arena - Barren Cross
A fine metal performance in the classic style.
Suffers from many drawbacks of the eighties.
A Day Of Nights - Battle Of Mice
Emotive and intense post-metal with a great performance from Julie Christmas.
Becomes repetitive and a little tedious, causing the effect to diminish.
Drawing Down The Moon - Beherit
Another entertaining early black metal album with classically awful production values.
Most songs sound pretty much the same.
