When the actual melody kicks in the song improves a lot and a tremendous rush of energy hits you. Would be a great soundtrack to a carnival. 'All The People In The World' benefits from a soulful and rip roaring vocal from Clark Anderson which takes the song to new heights. His brash delivery really empowers the song. Rating:

Safri Duo found fame off the back of the stunning drumming single 'Played-A-Live' which gave them a top ten UK hit. Interestingly, the song became one of the fastest selling singles in Europe of all time. Safri Duo never really continued their success on UK shores, though they continue to release music overseas and also appear at classical prom shows, fusing their intense drumming rhythms with well known pieces of classical music. III Tri-logy - Kingston Wall
Eclectic and strong. Some dull moments and failed experiments.

Throbbing Gristle: Part Two: The Endless Not
None

Halflife - Lacuna Coil
A couple of decent songs. All pretty samey.

Catalyst - New Found Glory
A terrific album of bouncy pop punk fun. If you dislike nasal vocal performances then you probably won't like this.

Discouraged Ones - Katatonia
Successful change of direction without losing artistic integrity. Songs tend towards similarity and over-repetition.

In A Reverie - Lacuna Coil
Average gothic doom metal. Still authentic to the genre.

Into The Purple Valley - Ry Cooder
Great Guitar Playing and Interpretation of American Classics Vocals occasionally a bit dodgy

Last Fair Deal Gone Down - Katatonia
Improved instrumentation, tighter focus. Most songs follow the same structure.

Swamplord - Kalmah
Meaner and more reliable equivalent to Children of Bodom. It's still partly a copy-cat act.

Swampsong - Kalmah
Greater range of styles and speeds. Neither extreme is particularly pleasing.
