3 Idiots - Soundtrack - A real treat of 2009 ------------------------------------------------------- This was probably the most awaited movie of 2009 and I really waited eagerly for the music release which promised to score very high. I went to movie and did purchase the music DVD as soon as it was released. I was fascinated with the song 'Aal Izz Well' which is very melodious and a gives you a campus ambience. The lyrics is superb and the song is amazingly composed. If you like a slow jazzy yet touching song then you must listen to 'Zoobi Doobi'. I loved it as I could correlate this well after seeing the movie and it is aptly punctuated as well. Shaan and Shantanu Moitra are really fabulous in the song 'Behti Hawa Sa Tha woh'. This is a soft with reflective lyrics and I really loved this. 'Give Me Some Sunshine' was a soft piano and harmonica notes apt for a party night bon fire atmosphere although this is not on top of my list of this soundtrack. Last but not the least Sonu Nigam displays his aura through high-pitched, emotional song titled 'Jaane nahi denge'. If you watch the movie you find the situation where Sharman is almost counting his breath and Sonu Nigam has really expressed the twinge brilliantly. Overall I would say this soundtrack has all the ingredients to make it a super hit collection. The music and the lyrics are awesome to make you listen to them time and again. I will recommend this soundtrack ...... Five Star !!!
The soundtrack was easily one of the most awaited albums of the year because:1.It is an Aamir Khan starrer 2.Shantanu Moitra(the composer) teams up again with Swanand Kirkire(Lyricist) for a Rajkumar Hirani film, which is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. This team has been related with quality music over the last few years. The album kick starts with "All Izz Well", a fun campus song which has the ability to become the next campus anthem. Sonu Nigam goes bizzare and the outing is immensely enjoyable for the listener. The lyrics are well written, mixing philosophy in a very urban and campus language. Next up is "Zoobi Doobi",the only romantic song in the album.Sung by the best singers of the industry(Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal),this song is a tribute to the love songs of the golden era of bollywood. The tune is zappy yet it has an old era charm to it. Expect fireworks on screen since this is the first time Aamir khan will be romancing Kareena on screen. Its amazing how this song makes me feel like dancing in rain(thats quite an achievement considering I am usually too shy to dance) Shantanu Moitra goes back to his bengal roots for "Behti Hawa Sa Tah woh".A song which speaks of their long lost friend whom they miss, the lyrics are absolutely fantastic. Shaan will be really happy to get a song like this under his belt and his vocals add more to this soothing number.Easily one of the best tracks of the year for me. 'Give me some sunshine" brings back all the fun and suits life on campus. Despite being very catchy and light, the lyrics are actually very meaningful if you carefully listen. Suraj Jahan does a fine job here and Shantanu keeps it really simple with guitars and acoustics. The chorus takes the song to a different level altogether. Play it on the car with your friends! The best is saved for the last. When you are wondering if such a consistent album might have a failure in the form of its last song,it surprises you with "Jaane Nahin Denge". Sonu Nigam proves why he is known as the best in the industry with his range. The song changes track every now and then(the song is only 3minutes or so but goes from high to low and back to high very often) and Sonu Nigam pulls off a truly masterpiece here. You can't ignore his range here while he depicts different emotions. A slow and sombre track with heavy orchestra playing at the back, this is one of the best tracks you will listen to. The album ends with two remixes-"All Izz Well remix" and "Zoobi Doobi remix" and makes sure that the album ends on a fun and happy note! The album is a clear winner and repeated hearing is a must!
