Butterfly Ball & The Grasshopper's Feast - VariousRock Opera with Mice! (655 words)
by adambrown400 - written on 15/03/10 (Very useful, 58 readings)
Back in the 1970's the term 'concept album' was very popular and covered everything from the loose concept of Sergeant Pepper to the fully dexterity of Tommy and everything in-between. Roger Glover's The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast certainly fits somewhere in-between these two. Glover was / is the bass player for Deep Purple and this was his first ambitious solo effort - the first of four to date. It certainly isn't a small scale album in the slightest - it's a full blown rock opera. Originally conceived as a project for Jon Lord, Butterfly Ball is based on a short poem that was produced into a children's book by Alan Aldridge. The album was supposed to form the ...
Karthik Calling Karthik - Original Bollywood SoundtrackKarthik Calling Karthik's OST- A quality album! (375 words)
by aadnan613 - written on 11/03/10 (Very useful, 52 readings)
Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have come with fabulous soundtracks in the past couple of years and their genre of music has been refreshingly new and laidback Shankar,Loy and Clinton Cerejo teams up for the opening track 'Hey Ya'- an extremely catchy number. Hey Ya! is aimed at the young audiences and succeeds to great extent to create an atmosphere for the songs to follow. Shankar Mahadevan & Alyssa Mendonsa's classic and rock fusion number 'Uff Teri Ada' is energetic, addictive and very appealing. The song is peppy and energetic when Alyssa takes over and carries classical influence when Shankar croons. The lyrics are a blend too-of fun and meaningful portions.A nice fusion ...

by lifesucks - written on 25/02/01, updated on 04/05/01 (Useful, 49 readings)
Cream have been running successfuly for many years and it has expanded out to many other events and even to Ibiza. In the last few there has been the appearance of an annual release of the best beats for the last year. It is basically just a rival to the Minstry of Sound or Gatecrasher annuals. This year (near to the beginning of 2001) was no different and out came Cream Anthems 2001. Priced at £15.99 it was quite reasonable for it's 41 tracks of pure dance and trance from the club on 2CD's. It certainly struck you when you saw it with it's purple and gold case and maybe that's why I bought it having never bought a Cream album before. It all came in a ...

Some beautiful British poetry and some of it ready extremely well
Some of the music choices, detract from the poems. Some readings are better than others.
|The Modern Lovers - The Modern Lovers|
Some good songwriting, pretty influential, some enjoyable tracks
Some rather self-indulgent stuff
