Best Of Both Worlds - The Very Best Of Van Halen - Van Halen
by aero-zeppelin - written on 07/01/09 (Useful, 9 readings)
Rating:
The title 'Best Of Both Worlds' pretty much sums up this compalation album. It only features songs sung by David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar, no mention of Gary Cherone, although David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar were members of the group for some 11 years at a time each. Many fans were uncertain of the idea of mixing both singer's songs on each disc rather than having one disc for David Lee Roth and another for Sammy Hagar, with many fans preferring one to the other. Hallelooooooya! WARNER BROTHERS in the US finally reissued all of the David Lee Roth Van Halen albums in a remastered form. Finally we can hear a disc version of these releases that actually sound BETTER than the original vinyl. The previously available CD issues sounded muted and flat. Finally we can hear all of the nuances of one of the most devastating rock releases of the 1970's. In 1978 the L.A. based rock group VAN HALEN released a self-titled album (known to most fans as VAN HALEN 1) that pushed the limits of the genre and changed the way every longhaired rock and roller played the guitar. Considering the impact this one record had on all rock music that was ...
