... ve already stated my opinion for this artist on her first album but it was the music on her most recent album "Far" that I first had the chance to listen to. She all seems very over-rated in my view and fits in to the sole artist with a piano and a slightly jazzy voice category only with a quirky Russian New York accent thrown in to the mix. We Started Nothing - Ting Tings ... out the latest albums of bands appearing at Glastonbury has so far proven to be a less than rivoting affair, The Ting Tings however bring a bit of cheer and whilst they are more poppy than alternative, they are at least relative fun and their electro tinged pop is more than likeable and acceptable to the majority I imagine. Lyrically it s good clean fun, not particularly outstanding material but catchy and interesting enough to hold ones attentions. There are numerous steady single worthy songs on this debut album alone and the fact the band have a formula that works is indisputable. One By One - Foo Fighters ... rock band FOO FIGHTERS released their fourth album ONE BY ONE which is a really impressive album. The album features eleven tracks of hard rock and some slower songs. 1 - ALL MY LIFE - A real headbanger of a track featuring a great guitar solo three quarters of the way in. Brilliant opener. 2- LOW - Great vocals from lead singer Dave Grohl really make this song. 3 - HAVE IT ALL - Not my favourite song though the lyrics are wonderful. 4 - TIMES LIKE THESE - My favourite song on the album. Favourite Worst Nightmare - Arctic Monkeys ... how do you follow up the best debut album since Definately Maybe? Well this is a pretty good try!! Not quite as good as "Whatever People Say I Am That s What I m Not" but a sterling attempt at the "difficult 2nd album" by the lads from Sheffield. Starting off with a bang with the 100 miles per hour "Brianstorm", this album delivers more fast-paced lyrical wizardry, catchy hooks and hidden gems.
