Final Straw - Snow Patrol: ... and "Sptitting Games" this is a must have album. With a mix of uplifting and mood altering songs from the outset, "Final Straw" can be played time and time again. The soft lead vocals of Gary Lightbody, the engaging rifts and the outstanding lyrics have made this album an absolute classic in my opinion. Since their debut album in 1998 as "Polar Bear", Snow Patrol have finally mad...

phennphawcks Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned - The Prodigy
... since Fat of the Land was released, so naturally there has been great anticipation of the new Prodigy album. Some have complained that this album really is just more of the same. But on the other hand, if you know what you like then this can be an advantage. After all, who wants New Coke when the original stuff was so much better? The tunes have a definate old-school feel about them, but you'll find yourself crankingthe volume and headbanging along just the same. I am espicially fond of "Spitfire" and "Girls", both of which are Prodigy at their best. If you're a fan of their previous albums then you can't miss this album. ...

Andy.mack The Last Broadcast - Doves
... large number of instrumental sections to tracks, whereas this album contains an increased amount of vocals. The tracks also have a more epic feel to them and sound totally amazing. As with the first album this one relies a great deal on the musical talents of the band. The guitars and drums are accentuated throughout with the use of keyboards and a number of percussion instruments. This gives the album the epic sound I was talking about. The guitars really give the songs a bit of direction and drive, while the drums accompany them and give the tracks a solid beat to work off. From there though Jimi, Andy and Jez use a number of smaller instruments such as Harmonicas and...

sg__lover Two - the Calling
... favourite song from this album is “Anything” when you sit and listen to the words you can just imagine it being sung to a loved one, it’s beautiful. And the very romantic “If only” runs a close second. Alex sings it with such passion and emotion. It’s also got your uplifting songs, Dreaming in Red, Our Lives, Chasing the Sun. I couldn’t recommend a better album, so if you liked their last album you will love “TWO”. The Calling are an LA rock band who aren’t really that well known in the UK. But many of their songs have featured in some very well known movies including, Coyote Ugly, Sweet Home Alabama, Dare Devil, and Love Actually. Alex Band the vocalist ...
