Drunk Enough To Dance - Bowling For Soup ... first discovered this band because of my boyfriend. i dont generally listen to rock or punk, with the exeption of queen, but who doesnt listen to then. However when i started dating a guy in a band, i had to open my mid a lot more. And this is his favorite band! i have now heard every track on this album, which i have to say is pretty good, including the hidden track at the end, which is my favorite, and apparently called "Belgium" I dont know why this is, but in true bowling for soup style, it is very very random. The Secret Language Of Birds - Ian Anderson ... of Jethro Tull s stripped-down folk works such as Songs from the Wood should enjoy the similar style of this third solo release from the one-legged tramp, who in reality has two legs and a nice country mansion in Wiltshire. Perhaps originally starting the whole solo career thing as an outlet to let off folk steam during his primary band s questionable electronic era, this is unapologetic folk rock without the rock that could easily be a throwback to the early sixties if not for Anderson s customarily satirical lyrics. This first release from a band I m going to abbreviate to AYWKUBTTOD (pronounced "eyew k-ubt tod," I have decided) would seem bold, exciting and dangerous to local Texan audiences that weren t familiar with Mogwai, and although it does essentially take on the exact same sound as those angry young Scots, it does so with a tad more accessibility and weirdly sounds even more like British indie rock as a result.
