The Spirit Room - Michelle Branch:
... behind the last tracks ballad feeling. It sounds good and easy to listen to, with again her fantastic voice and some very well written lyrics. The acoustic guitar provides quite a repetitive harmony but this sounds perfect for the type of track it is.

Happiness in Magazines - Graham Coxon ... album though. Coxon has used the work he did with Blur as a basis for his solo material but has developed each track individually. This has given the album a unique sound, whilst still sounding vaguely familiar. From a musical point of view its obvious that Coxon has a great deal of talent. It was in evidence during his days with Blur and now shines through from his solo material. The pace of the album is constantly changing with a good mixture of fast and slow songs. The guitars stay constant throughout the album and are often the driving force behind a lot of the songs. Love - Cult ... was the last album they made with a gothic theme before re-emerging as leather clad rock gods. When compared with the previous albums you can see the transformation taking place, and Love benefits from having the rock drive that was to come, combined with the gothic sensibilities of their past. The album is fairly dark as you would expect but contains enough upbeat tracks to prevent it from becoming too unaccesible to non gothics. Big Neon Glitter is a good example of this as are the singles from the album, She Sells Sanctuary, Revolution and Rain. This Is The Sea - Waterboys ... is tethered spirit is free what spirit is man can be" Every song seems to have its trade mark that sets it apart from its fellow songs on this album, as if every song is there for a reason, not just to fill up the running time, an all too common feature of music today. Every song seems to explore a different mood or idea, both in its lyric and insrumentation. Gypsy violins scream across the album, to be followed by subtle piano refrains, full on rock guitar jostles for attention next to epic trumpet pieces and jazz saxaphones go hand in hand with vocal rhapsodies and all the time the words are taking you into the realms of philosophy and moral considerations. ...
