I am less impressed with the bland cover artwork, which has clearly been knocked up in five minutes. Anyway, let s see the highlights. Duran Duran seem to figure on every eighties album and here they are with The Reflex. A wicked piece of pop music with exuberant vocals from ... Greatest Hits Of The 70's ... a lovely sleeve, three shades of brown. I guess brown was quite a seventies colour, so I shall let them off! Anyway, there are sixty tracks on this three disc compilation, so that should keep any true seventies fan busy for a good few hours. Here are some of my choice tips: I love the funky groove of KC and the Sunshine Band s Shake Shake Shake which has a wicked rhythm and really spices up any disco. I also adore Errol Brown s sexy and smooth vocal on Every 1 s A Winner. He can melt away troubles with that silky chocolate voice. Dr Hook s When You re In Love With A Beautiful Woman continues the crooning on the first disc. His gentle voice conveys a sense of ... Read the full review: The Sound Of The 70's! by benlepensive |

Greatest Hits Of The 60's ... the 75 songs to review on here then...pah! Or maybe not! There are three discs here offering a good old flashback to a decade I was not born in, the sixities. Nonetheless, I like a bit of sixties nostalgia and this boasts the greatest hits of that decade. The inappropriately titled We Gotta Get Out Of This Place is perhaps a bad way to start any album, not because of the song, but the title doesn t really fill you with confidence does it? So onto Mony Mony. Move over Billy Idol, this version is much sweeter and has far less attitude and plenty of charm in the vocals. The Beach Boys, not sure whether I like their sickly melodies, it s all too American and girly ... Read the full review: Who Remembers The Sixties? by benlepensive |

We Love Kylie ... entire album devoted to Kylie Minogue covers. A little dubious are we not? Kylie is a repsectable artist and a lot of her stuff is very dancefloor friendly anyway, so does an album of covers seem justified... There are fourteen tracks on here and on the second disc, a wonderful megamix, which merges all the songs together in one seamless mix. The album is put together by the production act Almighty and performed by the Almighty Showgirls, who are staples at the Almighty camp. Can t Get You Out Of My Head launches the album and is a fair take on the million seller, though the sensual edge Kylie spun on it seems to get lost, even if the backing beat is strong enough ...
