I think it was a present from a friend. She was a big Jack Johnson fan, had all his CDs and used to play it in the kitchen. One day I heard it and I asked her for the disk. Later I also got "On and On" and "In Between Dreams". Sandi Thom released her debut album "Smile...it Confuses People" in 2006, I felt it was good enough to be worth a listen, even allowing for all the hype that had surrounded it. I did think, however, that the real test would be the second album, to see how good it is when all the hype and the associated pressure were gone. So here we are with that second album, "The Pink & The Lily". Early signs are not promising, as I d pretty much forgotten all about her in the interim period. Nebraska - Bruce Springsteen ... who thinks Bruce Springsteen is an empty-headed rocker, should re-think their values and listen to him properly. Though as far as I m aware it hasn t been confirmed one way or the other, I sense that Bruce Springsteen wrote this exceptionally dark and moving collection of songs when going through a difficult period in his life. Nebraska is a far cry from the head-banded rocker giving his all to a massive audience screaming the "Bruce Chant" at some major world stadium.
