On And On - Jack Johnson ... is the second of Jack Johnsons studio albums and was released in 2003 under the Universal label. Most of us know the style of Jack Johnson but if you don t, it is a very relaxing, folky acoustic and mainly upbeat sound, which is accompanied by the unmistakable soothing voice when he sings. In fact, most of the time it just sounds like he s whispering loudly in a melody rather than singing. In my opinion this is the best of his albums as his own found style shines through in every song. Most of the songs have a real meaning i.e the twin towers attacks (traffic in the sky) or material things (gone). There is the odd song which is a bit more downbeat and gives you the ... The Complete Bbc Peel Sessions - Delgados ... late great John Peel (RIP) certainly had a really good taste in music. As well as nominating Teenage Kicks by the Undertones as his favourtie song ever (it s high up in my top ten) he championed one of my favorurite bands the Delgados (also RIP since they split up in 2005). During a ten year period they recorded no less than seven sessions comprising of twenty nine tracks in total for John Peel s late night show on Radio 1. These sessions have been compiled into a comprehensive double CD. For Emma Forever Ago - Bon Iver ... find it utterly pointless to give a history of something just to pad out my 150 words. Justin Vernon + Log Cabin = For Emma For Ever This albums is simply one one the greatest album made in the last 20 years. In world full of corporate music and the the overkill of the so called bands you should listen to this album stands out like a shining light. From Opening track Flume which showcases the harrowing brilliance and tortured voice of Justin Vernon i knew i was in for a treat.
