Call Off The Search - Katie Melua ... bought this album as I really liked Katie Melua s voice in general. This is a decent enough album but I can t say that I like every track. For this review, I am going to highlight my favourite tracks as for me, these are the best ones and the rest are ones that I tend to skip if I am being entirely honest. *The Closest Thing To Crazy* This was probably Katie s best known hit and the song that introduced me to her. It is a soft and slow track that is quite haunting in terms of vocals. It is arguably Katie s most commercial track, which probably contributed to its success. Twentysomething (Special Edition) - Jamie Cullum ... more despite it s 1960 s-romance-movie beginning. It s from the film Finians Rainbow and once you get past the introduction, Cullum adds a lot of jazz to this one and every time I hear it I can t help but sing along and jiggle my butt around a bit. Still incredibly chilled out in comparison to, say, slipknot but you can t really expect Jazz Pop to get more than a bum jiggle can you? - 7 - I Could Have Danced All Night - 3:24 - Any one who has seen "My fair lady" will know this one but there is a chance you won t recognise it at all. Modern Day Jazz Stories - Courtney Pine ... Pine Modern Day Jazz Stories (1995). Now I have to be honest, I am not a great Courtney Pine fan, firstly because he is primarily a tenor player ( though he does play other instruments, apparently very cool on flute) and secondly he has always been a bit smooth for my liking. So when I heard a track from this album round my friends house (track 2, The 37th Chamber) I thought, hey, who is this? this is a bit funky, a bit edgy and it reminded me a bit of Cannonball Adderley and Maceo Parker, both great altoists.
