Abbey Sings Abbey - Abbey Lincoln ... god this album is a real find! It s a wonder I ever lived without Abbey in my life before this album came along. Growing up as a fan of brilliant Female Black vocalists like Billy Holliday, Nina Simone, Tracy Chapman, Lauren Hill, Erykah Badu and Mary J...it amazes me that I never once heard of Abbey Lincoln. Her voice is smooth and soulfull and really does make you feel at ease. A certain depth and warmth to her voice that make you trust in what she says inately and in that you begin to realise the wisdom of her years. Romantic Warrior - Return to Forever ... is a very good album by a group of musicians who were all individually highly talented. Chick Corea together with the outrageously talented Stanley Clarke on bass produce some of the finest jazz fusion tracks all packed into one album. Jazz fusion in the sense of this album is a sort of funked up jazz- catchy and prominent bass riffs with keyboards, synth and sax. This sounds exciting and it is, but it may not be up everyone s street- if you are not a fan of jazz then the chances of you liking this album are probably slim. Michael Buble - Michael Buble ... am definitely a Michael Buble fan and I first knew him with this self-titled album released some few years back. I had no idea who he was ( I cannot even pronounce properly his last name back then) until he sung "The Way You Look Tonight" (which is a track in the album) with a famous local artist in the latter s show here in our country and yeah I was amazed by his refreshing jazz rendition of the song. I did a little research and made known that he is Canadian and his last name is pronounced as "Bubleigh". I checked on this album of his and was impressed with the rest of the tracks.
