Back To Black - Amy Winehouse ... terms of the music, it s the percussion and drum kicks that get me every time (especially on "Rehab") but other killer tracks to look out for include: the reggae tinged songs "Me & Mr Jones" and "Just Friends"; "Love Is A Losing Game" just makes you want to cry - for her and for yourself, if you ve ever loved and lost; the feisty "Tears Dry On Their Own"; the oh, so sorry "Wake Up Alone" and the closer, "Addicted". There s a lot of feeling here. Even the backing vocals (performed by Winehouse herself), while sounding beautiful, sound like they were sung in the midst of pure heartache. You Know ... Rockferry Deluxe Edition - Duffy ... is one of the strongest debuts, heck album for that matter, I have come across in a long time. Her voice is compelling and her band is wonderful and matches her beautifully. From the sombre piano on Rockferry to the lush rhythms in Serious and Syrup & Honey to the Wall Of Sound on Mercy, this is an effort from a lot of very talented people with Duffy leading the way. She s an original and charming performer with a voice that will blast you out of your seat. I Look To You - Whitney Houston ... is back, but I can also say I am not blown away with the cd, expected some really powerful teat jerkers. Still some catchy tracks and what a come back, on a personal level. Songs may not be up to much but she s still got the most sesational singing voice that I ve ever heard, Kelly Clarkson? Oh, how cute. Just adorable. Step aside. Jordin Sparks? Come back in a few years. Rihanna? Never in this lifetime.
