**THE BAND**
30 Seconds To Mars are an American alternative rock/emo band from Los Angeles, USA. They haven't been very well known for the majority of the time that they have been recording but recently became more successful following the realease of the massive emotional anthem 'The Kill'. Their style is quite different to most artists of this genre, they are definitely unique. The current members of the band are: Jared Leto, Shannon Leto, Tomo Milicevic and Tim Kelleher. So far 30 Seconds To Mars have released two studio albums:
30 Seconds To Mars (2002)
A Beautiful Lie (2005)
They are also due to release 'This Is War' this year.

**MY FAVOURITE TRACKS**
**1. Attack**
This was the perfect opener for this album in my opinion. It's quite fast paced compared to the rest of the album and has a rather aggressive chorus which definitely makes you want to hear more of the album. Apparently, this track is about getting away from all the people that doubt and criticize you and showing them how successful you can really be, I dont know though. My favourite lyrics from this song are: "I won't suffer, be broken, get tired or wasted, surrender to nothing or give up what I started and stopped it, from end to begginning" I would rate this song 8/10.

**3. The Kill (Bury Me)**
This is probably the most well known track on the album with a lot of fans. It's a very powerful song. It starts off with a quiet riff on the guitar with Jared's vocals over lapping. The tension builds up throughout the verse and then explodes in to an extremely dramatic chorus. It's a good song, maybe slightly over dramatic but it does add good atmosphere though. It would definitely make a good soundtrack! I think that this song is about a relationship where someone is trying to change Leto but he can't take it anymore, it's killing him. My favourite lyrics from this track are: "All I wanted was you, I tried to be someone else but nothing seemes to change, I know now this is who I really am inside, finally found myself, fighting for a chance I know now this is who I really am" I would rate this song 9/10.

**7. From Yesterday**
Much like The Kill, From Yesterday is an emotional anthem of a song in its own right. It works in the same way that the verse slowly builds up to the chorus then explodes. It is really powerful, I think only Jared Leto could pull it off in such a way and make it work the way that he does. Apparently this song is about the life of a soldier fighting in a war somewhere and how hard it can be. My favourite lyrics from this track are: "He's a stranger to some and a vision to none, he can never get enough, get enough of the one, for a fortune he'd quit but it's hard to admit how it ends and begins, on his face is a map of the world, a map of the world." I would rate this song 10/10.

**MY OVERALL OPINION**
I love this album! I preffer the first album that 30 Seconds To Mars released, this one is just as good but in different ways. The tracks on this album are quite heavy, dramatic and emotional which is great if that's what you like. Jared Leto's vocals and song writing skills are outstanding, I would definitely recommend this album.
