Two discs-worth of songs. Absolute bargain.

"A Break in the Weather" is a compilation album released in 2005 on Castle Records by British rock musician, Ginger. Help on the album came courtesy of Hot Steve, Jon Poole, Stidi and C.J.

The album was released in order to complete something that was never finished. Ginger was to put out a single each month for twelve months, but things didn't exactly happen that way and the project was canned after 5 months. The five singles were "I'm a Lover Not a Fighter", "Cars and Vaginas", "And This Time I'm Serious", "The Saga of Me and You" and "Virtual Love".

What you get here is 18 songs of the highest quality. "Thailand Uber Alles" is a song about Ginger's unfortunate arrest in the country and subsequent jail time for an unfortunate misunderstanding about an expired visa, while "Don't Let Me Die Lonely" deals with the fear of living a life alone following an ugly split from a partner.

Ginger is to songwriting what the Big Mac is to McDonalds. Whatever this man touches turns to gold, and there is no doubt that you'll be buying an album packed full of songs which are anthems and songs which will move you, emotionally. This wasn't the best of times for Ginger when he wrote most of these songs, and that's usually expressed in a good way when you listen to his work. I would definitely recommend this album.
