Advantages: sooo many good songs

Disadvantages: some of them arent in english :(

For those of you who haven't heard of Josh Groban, shame on you! ;) He's a Califronian vocalist who fuses elements of pop and classical music to create some of the most haunting and amazing songs i've ever heard. His voice quite literally melts and even though this type of music isn't really my favourite the man himself is a master!
Josh Groban burst on to the international music scene in 2001 with the release of his self-titled debut album featuring the hit single, "To Where You Are." His follow up CD "Closer" with the smash hit "You Raise Me Up" in 2003 is his biggest selling so far (going five times platinum), 2006 he made a return with his triple platinum album 'Awake' and a christmas album 'Noel'.

'A Collection' was released in 2008 to create a 'greatest hits' album of his best known songs to date, and what a collection it is!

For me, words cant descibe Josh Groban - all i know is that his voice is pure brilliance and a raw talent and i'd recommend this album to anyone who likes pop/ballads or classical because you can guarantee you will like some of the tracks on there.

There are Seven songs on this album that stand out for me and i have them forever placed on my Ipod:
- February Song - from the 'Awake' album - probably the first song that made me listen to the lyrics of Josh Groban. Its a ballad and his voice stands out on this.
- You Are Loved (Don't Give Up) - from the 'Awake' Album - this song was released as a single and the lyrics are simply magnifique.
- You Raise Me Up - well this song has been covered by over 125 artists so it's not hard not to know this one (most recently Westlife) but Josh Groban was the first singer to make it internationally successful - it has a longer introduction that other versions of this song but once again Josh' voice shines.
- In Her Eyes - i just love the lyrics to this.
- Awake - this is only recently one of my favourite song, i love the lyrics and Josh's voice (but i could say the same for alot of the songs)
- To Where you are - i heard this song first when it was covered by X factor band G4, its a weepy and about losing someone.
- Anthem (From Chess) (Live) - this was performed as part of the musical Chess in concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 2008 featuring Josh Groban alongside Idina Menzel, in which Josh played Anatoly Sergievsky.
11. Remember When It Rained - I didnt like this song at first but i know a lot of Josh Groban fans or 'grobanites' loved it and the more i listened to it the more i love the lyrics and love the song.


For me, Josh Groban's music is about meaning and the lyrics to songs as well as his incredible voice. i recommend this to everyone even though its not everyones cup of tea.

If you like Ballads, Pop and classical .. you will love this.
