Back before Rihanna brought a summer of rain with the worldwide smash 'Umbrella' and became even bigger with the massive 'Good Girl Gone Bad' album which spawned no less than 8 hit singles, she had to work hard to sell records past the odd big hit here and there and listening to her 2006 sophomore effort 'A Girl Like Me', it's not really that difficult to see why. Unlike it's successor this album lacks any spark and doesn't really showcase Rihanna's talent though this could be down to the fact that the talent and production that soaked up 'Good Girl Gone Bad' have been skipped from the album's recording process completely. A GIRL LIKE ME is the title of pop star RIHANNA's album. The album features 14 tracks. The opening song SOS is a funkier cover versionof the original. Rihanna's vocals are strong while the chorus is catchy with a great dance beat which will get you on the dance floor. KISSES DON'T LIE shows genuine emotion in the vocals which comes from the lyrics which are heartfelt and is a passionate song expressed clearly at the chorus. My favourite song on the album is UNFAITHFUL. This track contains beautiful piano work and sublime vocals that carry the melodies while the chorus is dramatic and the finale is strong. Ive been a big fan of Rihannas since she started her career. A Girl Like Me was released in 2006 and since i bought it, ive almost wore it out playing it so much. When i bought it, it cost around £12 but you can by it from Amazon for £2.98. A Girl Like Me ~~~~~~~~~ ~1~ SOS The first track from A Girl Like Me is a really upbeat uptempo catchy number. A Girl Like Me was Rihanna's second album and was released in 2006, this album was much more sucessful than her 1st album Music of the Sun, and had some really great tracks on it that did really well in the charts. This is a really girly, sexy, fun album that falls into the pop and dance genre though still has a bit of rnb feeling to it.
