Their ninth full length,A Line of Deathless Kings, is no exception. It's a very mellow album by their standards, with Aaron Stainthorpe employing clean sung vocals for almost its entire duration. Likewise, the songs maintain a slow and steady pace throughout, being for the most part unhurried and reflective. My Dying Bride, the only one of the three major English doom metal bands of the early Nineties to have resisted the urge to evolve beyond all recognition (the others being Anathema and Paradise Lost) nevertheless seem to operate in cycles, or have done for much of their career.
