DeVotchKa - How it Ends (Track) (Used on GoW 2 Trailer) Most people have probably never heard of the music band DeVotchKa let alone their song 'How it Ends' but when I tell you this song is used on the Gears of War 2 Trailer for the Xbox 360 it should make you slightly intrigued. After all the GoW trailers are generally known for their depressing yet melodic songs. DeVotchKa are a unique band, they are a four piece instrumental and vocal ensemble that uses many different styles of music (in particular eastern European) and fuses it with American folk/punk. DeVotchKa are an intriguing band which sound like a mix of Firewater and Radiohead. I'm not at all a Radiohead fan and therefore the band isn't that far up my list of favourites but I can definitely respect some of their creativity and they do come up with some unique sounding stuff. The most similar thing about the band and Radiohead would be the whiney relatively depressing Thom Yorkesque vocals. The New York based band tend to fuse Russian sounds with Latin music on top of what is quite regular alternative music.
