Blink's debut album is a joyful mixture of frenetic pop stompers and pretty lullabies. While their live energy is a joy to behold, this studio effort does provide a good translation. There is an untethered feel to a lot of the tracks so much so that on occasion you can almost hear main man Dermot Lambert smiling. Lamberts character is stamped all over this record. As the album progresses he methamorpheses from a rabid animal spouting out the lyrics to a diligent choirboy and back again. His style could conceivably be an Irish take on rapping.
