Stand Up - Jethro Tull

Crowned Review Stand Up and Rock Folks (1174 words)
by Zmugzy - written on 30/09/08 (Very useful, 153 readings)
Rating:

Stand Up was Jethro Tull s 2nd album first released in 1969 and reached #1 in the British charts. I remember the tatty gatefold LP album bought by a friend of mine in a second-hand record shop in the early 1990s. The album cover artwork, designed by artist James Grashow, was in the style of a carved woodcut and the album opened up like a child s pop-up book, so that a cut-out of the band stood up - a kind of play on the album s title and something completely lost on the later CD releases. I copied the album onto tape cassette and even though I ve played the cassette till it was practically worn out, I still think it still sounds better than the remastered CD I bought ...

The Broadsword And The Beast - Jethro Tull

Premium Review Bring Me My Broadsword, and Clear Understanding (2277 words)
by mattygroves10 - written on 11/10/05 (Very useful, 132 readings)
Rating:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Introduction and Background ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been a Jethro Tull fan since I was around 15. For a time, I bought EVERY album I could find. One of the later purchases I made before CDs came to the fore, was Broadsword and the Beast. Copyright 1982 (with the superb cover art bizarrely copyright 1983, according to my CD), this album was very different from the rock of Aqualung or the (at times) gentler rock/folk of Songs from the Wood or Heavy Horses. It might even be called a radical departure. Tull followed the times, and used the then newish and very popular electronic instruments, to an extent neglecting their ...
Products similar to A Passion Play - Jethro Tull
An awsome collection of rare Elvis tracks. Nothing.
Inventive and well-structured. Songs are far too long and uneven.
Atmospheric, uplifting post-rock for a rainy day. Lacks the punch that Godflesh/early Jesu fans might expect.
Excellent musicianship, some killer riffs and exciting A little relentless feeling at times
It's Elvis singing! None of the movie songs are included
It's Elvis! Live! In Las Vegas! None
