A rush of blood to the head was the second album by the band cold play. Their first album parachutes had some really great songs on it and was an instant success was I wasn't sure whether they would flop or fly with this one, but luckily they flew as this album was another top notch one from cold play.

The first song Politik starts really well with a nice crashing drums, piano and guitar sound and then the singing comes in which is calm and relaxed, I did like the style for a bit but I thought it would get going and it just didn't so I didn't over like this song.

The second song is where the real cold play kicks in though, in my place is a fantastic song and one of my favourites from cold play. It starts off with a drum beat and then that famous guitar riff at the beginning of the song before it fades out and the wonderful lyrics kick in, it's a slow song however you don't get bored with the pace of this one and its just a great track throughout.

Scientist is another great one, it starts off with a beautiful bit of piano playing and is in my opinion one of the saddest songs on the album, the lyrics are fantastic and when it gets going it's a wonderful song.

Clocks is another really good song as well, it starts off with a wonderful piano section and then the drums kick in and it starts to get a bit pacier, its still quite slow but is certainly one of their faster songs with happier lyrics and another one of my favourites.

A rush of blood to the head was an album with some really nice well written relaxing songs. I'm not the biggest cold play fan and much prefer more rocky music than this however I found I appreciated how well written these songs were and I always enjoy listening to cold play.

Summary: even better than their first!
