Advantages: all the good songs in one
Disadvantages: none
I got this album on holiday for a fairly cheap price. Previously I had an album called Superunknown by Soundgarden, and I thought that it was alright with some good songs such as Black Hole Sun, and some not so good songs which I will not name for now. But once I got this album A-Sides by Soundgarden I just thought how brilliant it was. I don't find one song in this album boring and I can just consistently listen to it. All the songs are in order of when they are released and all of them are they're best songs. It is basically like a Soundgarden Greatest Hits album. Also there's a solo album by the lead singer Chris Cornell which is a must buy. I ain't got it yet but I am getting it soon. Below is a song list and a detail of each of them: 01. Nothing To Say: Cornell/Thayil 3:56 02. Flower: Cornell/Thayil 3:25 03. Loud Love: Cornell 4:57 04. Hands All Over: Cornell/Thayil 6:00 05. Get On The Snake: Cornell/Thayil 3:44 06. Jesus Christ Pose: Cameron/C/S/T 5:51 07. Outshined: Cornell 5:11 08. Rusty Cage: Cornell 4:26 09. Spoonman: Cornell 4:06 10. The Day I Tried To Live: Cornell 5:19 11. Black Hole Sun: Cornell 5:18 12. Fell On Black Days: Cornell 4:42 13. Pretty Noose: Cornell 4:12 14. Burden In My Hand: Cornell 4:50 15. Blow Up The Outside World: Cornell 5:46 16. Ty Cobb: Cornell/Shepherd 3:05 17. Bleed Together: Cornell 3:54 ---Music--- Very original but still a bit like Soundgarden. Good variety of originals. My personal favourite song is "Fell on my Black Days". This song is quite gloomy and at the same time is makes me feel really relaxed at times. Black Hole Sun is the all time classic but I got a bit bored of it, it's actually pretty easy to play aswell as I've worked it with ease on my guitar. It's quite a gloomy song again, but i
t starts getting nice and loud with an increase in tempo, and of course it's fabulous. Burden In My Hand is ultimately the cheesyess song I have ever heard from Soundgarden. Very funny and lively song indeed, especially the verses. ---Lyrics--- All the lyrics for each of the song has some sort of meaning behind it all, however I don't understand some of them such as "Jesus Christ Pose", but some I do such as "Outshined" which is quite a heavy song at the start and it's played in drop D. Chris Cornell voice aint too high and clear, hence sometimes it's hard to work out what he saying, but scratting information from the net will help you to sort out all the lyrics for the songs. ---Cover--- Nice green cover, with their faces blurred a bit at the back. I can boast that it's not too hard for me to produce covers similar to the A-sides cover, if I simply use Adobe Photoshop and such programs. Pretty dark background for the album too, and inside there are pictures of the band and some other friends of the group. ---Overall--- All I advice is, get this album it's going to let you be busy listening to it for weeks, and can probably last years. I still listen to it at times but not as much now. That's it now. Bye!
