Salim-Sulaiman are probably the most promising young composers around and Aaja Nachle's OST was highly anticipated since it marked the comeback of dancing queen Madhuri Dixit.
The title track 'Aaja Nachle' is perfect in the sense that it gives a solid platform for the dancing queen to spread her aura around the audience. The song is extremely catchy and has a lot of appeal which will make it an instant hit with the audiences. Sunidhi Chauhan is in supreme form and Salim-Sulaiman deserves a lot of credit to come up with something so entertaining.
Kailash Kher,Richa Sharma and Salim Merchant teams up for 'Show Me your Jalwa' which carries a lot of country side festive mood. The lyrics, the composition all complement to the setting and hence the song has limited appeal audiowise.
My two most favorite tracks has to be 'Ishq Hua' and 'Iss Pal'.Both the songs are very romantic and sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal. I feel both tracks are continuations of each other in no specific order and carry a similar charm. Both the songs are extremely well written-the lyrics are as beautiful as love itself.Sonu and Shreya drip their vocals with lot of love and both the songs connect to the listener's heart. Salim-Sulaiman are probably the only composers capable of composing such soulful romantic tracks(other than the genius A.R.Rahman ofcourse) which you can listen on and on without ever getting bored of them. These are two masterpieces here!
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan goes solo in the solid 'O Re Piya' which carries a lot of soul. Salim-Sulaiman showcase their love for creating such magical compositions which carry a lot of Indian classic flavours.O Re Piya is a sure winner and will make you listen to it innumerable times.Rahat is fabulous here-the composition gives him all the space to showcase his range and grasp.
'Soniye Mil Ja' is more of a broadway play-filled with narrations, chorus parts and a whole team of singers singing their individual parts. Sukhwinder Singh and Sunidhi play their part well but this doesn't have too much appeal audiowise.
Three of the best singers in the industry(Sonu Nigam,Sunidhi Chauhan,Shreya Ghoshal) join forces for 'Koi Patthar Se Na Maare' which is an emotional/sad love song which makes for a poignant experience. All the singers are fantastic and render their lines with a lot of pain and emotion.
Sonia Saigal sings 'Dance with me'-a number which will remind you of the whole Micheal Jackson era! Salim-Sulaiman proves their diversity with a complete English track that is funky and belongs to the pop genre.A fun track this!
Aaja Nachle OST is a fantastic album which makes it a must have in every collection!
