Aaliyah?s third self-titled album was released back in 2001. Being an Aaliyah fan I purchased it as soon as I could get it on import. I was little shocked by the style of the album but so very glad. I was relieved she didn?t stick to the same sound and actually tried something a little different. Her first album was straight up R?n?B, whilst the second album seemed to have taken many of its influences from slick, smooth soul music. When you saw her she was stunningly pretty, sophisticated, modest and intelligent - Victoria Beckham thinks in her neurotic little mind that she comes across like this. However, though we have lost a true star (she was also due to appear in the sequel to 'Interview with a Vampire' and 'The Matrix 2'), we have been left with one of the year's best albums so far. 'Aaliyah' is the singer's third album and sees her maturing her sound and ...
