Aaliyah?s third self-titled album was released back in 2001. Being an Aaliyah fan I purchased it as soon as I could get it on import. I was little shocked by the style of the album but so very glad. I was relieved she didn?t stick to the same sound and actually tried something a little different. Her first album was straight up R?n?B, whilst the second album seemed to have taken many of its influences from slick, smooth soul music. This album however seemed like dark R?n?B with a little soul in there too. It was just different. Firstly I think this change occurred due to her growing up. This was her first album as a woman, and not a teenager. There were definite ... Read the complete review

I thought it was about time I wrote on a brilliant album that I own by the one and only AALIYAH. This album is definitely something to remember Aaliyah by ~Tragically Aaliyah was taken from us late last year in a jet crash taking her many acting and singing talents with her. However we are left with this album by herself as well as her other Cd's and of course the movies she starred in. This CD is pretty good, it features many well known songs from Aaliyah such as 'Try again' 'More Than A Woman' her new track, 'Rock The Boat' and also 'We Need A Resolution' The album itself is a red colour with beautiful pictures of ... In early September Aaliyah was tragically killed at the age of 22 in a plane crash. The world lost a very young, talented, beautiful singer and actress, with so much potential to offer the world. When you saw her she was stunningly pretty, sophisticated, modest and intelligent - Victoria Beckham thinks in her neurotic little mind that she comes across like this. However, though we have lost a true star (she was also due to appear in the sequel to 'Interview with a Vampire' and 'The Matrix 2'), we have been left with one of the year's best albums so far. 'Aaliyah' is the singer's third album and sees her maturing her sound and ... Read the complete review

I was completely devastated the day i heard that the beautiful Aaliyah had been killed in a plane crash. I have been a fan of her music for several years and think she was a truly amazing and talented person. She had a voice like no other i had heard before - haunting, effortless and beautiful. Her self titled album Aaliyah was the third and sadly her last album. Aaliyah - Aaliyah ~~~~~~~~~~ ~1~ We need a resolution One of my favourite Aaliyah songs by a mile. This song has brilliant catchy lyrics, a great video and a real groove to it. I cant help myself singing along to this song anytime i hear it. ~2~ Loose ... Read the complete review

Aaliyah- Aaliyah This was Aaliyah’s last album she made before her tragic death. The sheer brilliance of this album is a reminder of her talent, and how much more music she could have made. She is in my opinion the most talented R&B singer. What sets Aaliyah apart from some other R&B singers is her voice. She didn’t have the strongest voice compared to e.g. Whitney Houston, but it was in the way she used her voice to portray so many emotions in her music. Her voice is delicate, and she could make any song her own. Her love for music is clearly shown in this album, I consider it to be her best album and one of the best albums I have ever ...
